I have kept up with my sew-alongs this week, finishing the third Christmas banner stitchery with Sew Happy Me ...
And I have completed the second step of the Tilda sew-along with Lydia's Treasures. This week the task was to turn the doll pieces and stuff them ...
I am enjoying participating in these sew-alongs, I would otherwise have felt the projects too big but broken down in week-by-week steps they have been manageable so far. It is also fun looking forward to the next task to be posted.
It is spring here in New Zealand and we are having very changeable weather, in one day we have heavy rain, then an afternoon of sunshine and then strong winds! The plants are enjoying the season even if we humans aren't as much!!
I love this viburnum when it flowers each spring, the flowers are white and lacy |
Henny Penny always hopes I will throw her some food! |
Happy weekend and happy stitching, Wendy
Looking forward to seeing your Tilda doll when she is finished, great idea to break it down and do a little each week.
ReplyDeleteThe weather has been great for the garden(and the weeds) but boy we sure could do with some constant sunshine for the school holidays!

Good on you for keeping up with the stitchalongs - you're right, breaking up a project into small steps makes it more manageable. Hope you get lots of hexies sewn this weekend, and the semi-finals are a relaxing sew - not too stressful!!

Im loving your progress on your Tilda doll!! well done.... Go the All Blacks!!
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas banner looks terrific Wendy. Good luck tonight. I have stitching to do as well. Only about an hour to kick off. I have been disowned by my friends as I really hope, in my heart, that the All Blacks win. I know how popular the team is in NZ and I think it would be such a wonderful thing for you all to win the World Cup after such a terrible 2011. I am cheering for the best team to win!!
ReplyDeleteHi Wendy. I've just discovered your blog, and wanted to say hello as I'm in Hamilton too. I love your vignette quilt, great choice of fabric. And finally, YAY the All Blacks!!Take care.
ReplyDeleteI could not find you, but now I am a folower. Your stitcheries are lovely and your angel stuffed alreaydy too. I love spring but we entered autumn.
ReplyDeleteOh Wendy.... you are tempting me to start the Christmas Banner stitchery. It's just so sweet. Can't wait to see how your Tilda doll turns out... how you're going to dress it. Now... I have to admit to being a tiny bit envious of your chickens. Henny Penny is one good looking bird.
ReplyDeleteI'll be rooting for the AB's in the Final. Don't even attempt to sew through that
